“We are setting a standard for the entertainment industry over here in the Southeast. We want to tell them that the industry can still function without one changing location, rather it can be built on ideas and professionalism,” said Okey Oku, the head-honcho of Oracle Film Pictures as he recently led a long line of showbiz practitioners to the cinema where they witnessed the official premiere of the movie, Bambitious.
Words will never be enough to describe such a glitzy night that had the coal city of Enugu shook to brims, following the presence of top Nollywood celebrities and music acts.
Apparently, it is a known fact that Enugu State has over the years been the African film production hub when it comes to location, and has contributed to the overall development of the Nigerian motion picture industry, but last weekend made it possible for a movie to be premiered for the first time in the State.
Held at the prestigious Genesis Deluxe Cinema (Polo Mall), Enugu, the event had all the cast of the movie completely on parade, starting from veteran actress, Ebele Okaro-Onyiuke, Bellinda Effah, Bucci Franklin, Daniel K. Daniel and the rest of the crew.
Though delectable actress, Bellinda Effah played the lead as Bambi, but she felt encouraged after she sat at the cinema watching herself deliver the lines perfectly on screen, which arguably could be rated as being challenging.
Advertently, the premiere added credence to the quality of works the producer cum-director, Okey Oku is known for over the years, as most vitriolic critics who made it to the event ended up making a thumb-up sign in admiration to the end product of the movie, Bambitious.
Interestingly, all the scenes dished out by the writer, Patrick “Koinage” Nnamani were acknowledged by the guests and critics as being enthralling, as it also kept the audience glued to their seats for one hour and forty five minutes with no dull moment and suspense filled scenes.
Expectedly, Iyanya’s Made Men Music signee, Sele Bobo was on the beat with his presence, and that made it possible for the high-octane evening of fun to be noted as a movie-meets-music night.
