Organizers of Social Media Merit Award plans big

Designed to recognize outstanding individuals and corporate bodies that have shown activeness through the use of the social media network to inform, educate and entertain the general public, Social Media Merit Awards has been berthed.  

Billed to hold on November 30, 2014 at Graziela Hotels, along Onitsha road in Owerri, the event will have in attendance all social media lovers, especially from facebook and twitter categories.

Organized by Social media searchlight concepts, this platform started as House of Comedy Promotions (HCP), the group that comprises of mostly comedians. It started with its major focus on staging shows and hosting of radio/tv programs between 2008-2013.

According to the prime organizer, Tony-Greg Ukaegbu (Bananamouth), he said they were organizing House of Comedy Merit Awards annually and was able to hold five solid editions where personalities, professionals and supporters of the entertainment industry were honoured. “This was the only relevant entertainment event going on in the entire South East.”

This Group metamorphosed into Social Media Searchlight Concept early 2014 and now opting up to be enlisted among the majors in award event organization with a wide scope of event management, music and movie productions.

“Our vision is to encourage, motivate and educate the society about social media as the fastest means of communication, promotion and connecting the world. Even as we tend preaching the good news, we want to take it to the next level for all and sundry’s benefit,” he said.
